A re-focusing of efforts on the direct side of the business requiring a ramp up in performance drove the need to hire a senior executive to lead the the change and drive cost and performance efficiencies. To ensure certainty of outcome and an independently transparent process a decision was made to use an executive search firm.
RFC Executive began by meeting with both the HR Director and the Operations Director to fully understand the business , it’s culture and the objectives of the role. We also reviewed the competitive landscape using our experience and contacts in the banking and insurance sector and produced a context report.
The findings suggested that the market for the skill set required was small if considering only those from an insurance background and to ensure success a broader search to include banking was required.
Our strategy report was drawn up and included a job and person specification, remuneration profile and sourcing and selection strategy. This was then agreed with Allianz.
RFC researched the entire Irish banking and insurance sector along with some relevant organisations in the UK to prepare a target or long list of 100+ targets. Once this was reviewed with Allianz the short listing and initial interview selection process was conducted by RFC. This yielded a shortlist of six for first interview with the HR and Operations Directors.
Within the agreed time frame of 12 weeks a senior executive was found that fitted the skill set, culture and motivational requirements initially agreed upon. The impact is yielding beyond the desired overall improvement in performance.
