Challenge

Role: Secretary General

The organisation , found itself in a difficult situation as it long serving CEO was retiring. Unsure of the market for executive talent and requiring a fully transparent process it was decided to engage RFC Executive to provide this expertise.

Process

RFC began by developing a through understanding of the Irish Red Cross organisation, its vision, corporate objectives, processes and staff. We met with the chairperson and other board members in order to review the current structures and process. RFC also reviewed the competitive landscape using its experience and contacts in the relevant corporate and not for profit organisations.
RFC advised on job and person specification, remuneration profile and sourcing and selection strategy. This was then agreed at board level.
We designed and managed both on line and offline advertising. Screening of applicants and presenting a final shortlist for review with the sub committee.

Result

Within the agreed timeframe of 12 weeks a new CEO was found who matched the revised role criteria.
